Candidate Filing Deadline: Thursday, August 4, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. School Board Secretary's Office at ELSC, 2500 Edgewood Road NW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52405
Withdrawal Deadline: Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at 5:00 p.m.
School Board Election Day: Tuesday, September 13, 2011
Offices up for 2011 Election:
School Director, District One for a term of four years
School Director, District Four for a term of four years
School Director, At Large for a term of four years
School Director, At Large for a term of four years
Election Information
Nomination papers for all candidates for election to a school board office must be filed with the Secretary of the Board of Education on the Monday, 64 days before the regular school election (Second Tuesday of September) and by no later than 5:00 p. m. on Thursday, 40 days before the school election. Any person who has filed nomination papers, may withdraw as a candidate at any time prior to 35 days before the election. The election term is four years
Nomination petitions and Affidavits of Candidacy are available from the School Board Secretary's Office, the Linn County Auditor's Office and/or are available on-line at www.linncounty.org. The number of signatures required on the nomination petition for the Cedar Rapids Community School District is 50.
