City PTA - By-laws
The bylaws form the legally binding document that governs the organization. The relationship between state PTAs and National PTA is set forth in the National PTA Bylaws and in the charter that is issued by National PTA to each state PTA.
“The structure of the local PTA and its specific rules, including its officers, elections, committees, and local portion of dues, are contained in the bylaws adopted by its members. Such bylaws, however, may not conflict with the bylaws of the state or National PTA. Sample bylaws may be found in the Members’ area of www.pta.org (Username: local, Password: benefits)”
A copy of current bylaws for each Cedar Rapids unit is on file at the ESC. A copy can be obtained at the request of the unit president.
