City PTA
The City Parent Teacher Association consists of PTA members from the Cedar Rapids Community Schools PTA's. A board of officers is elected annually by the membership which include a President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer. These officers appoint legislative, communications, and bylaws chairs to serve on the executive committee.
The City PTA mission statement
- To support and speak on behalf of children and youth in school, in the community, and before governmental bodies and other organizations that make decisions affecting children
- To assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect their children
- To encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools of this nation
