Four of the District’s Five Seasons Learning Centers have been recognized as being among the best child care centers in the state. Learning Centers at Arthur, Gibson, Nixon, and Wright elementary schools received a Level 5 rating – the highest possible - on the voluntary Iowa Quality Rating System for child care and preschool programs.
The Quality Rating System (QRS) is an opportunity for providers to receive feedback on ways to strengthen the quality of child care they provide. Providers receiving Levels 3-5 ratings have been identified as having made significant steps in meeting key indicators of quality in the areas of:
- Health and safety
- Family and community partnership
- Leadership and administration
“By participating in the QRS, we are able to demonstrate to parents and our community our commitment to providing quality child care and to working to continuously improve,” explained Kim Hazlett, Supervisor of the Five Seasons Learning Centers and Early Learning Preschool Programs. “We are very pleased to have these locations recognized with this top rating.”
