Waiting Period for Total Disability Benefits Information
Disability should be considered any time that you are unable to perform your duties at work due to an illness or injury. Your disability benefit plan has been designed to provide financial help for you when a covered loss occurs. If you become Totally Disabled, Presumptively Disabled or Proportionately Disabled while covered, and if you otherwise qualify, benefits will be payable to you during each month of a Payment Period.
A Total Disability Payment Period will normally begin on the date you complete a Benefit Waiting Period. A Total Disability Benefit Waiting Period will:
Start on the date you are Totally Disabled; and be completed on the date Total Disability has been continuous for the expiration of all accumulated sick leave, but no earlier than the 31st calendar day following the date of disability during which time you have not worked.
