Jeff King has been employed with the Cedar Rapids Community School District since 2007.
He started with the district as a part-time night custodian. In 2009 he moved to the Stadium (grounds department) as a full-time grounds maintenance employee. In 2011, Jeff was promoted to grounds foreman after the then current foreman retired.
Jeff and his crew have many responsibilities throughout the school district. They are responsible for maintaining the grounds, snow removal, and ice control, at all district property. The Stadium crew also maintains and is responsible for the upkeep of Kingston Stadium as well as cleanup after events at Kingston. They are also responsible for maintaining all of the small engine equipment owned by the school district at all of the buildings. This includes but is not limited to: Riding mowers, push mowers, weed eaters, leaf blowers, snow blowers, field groomers, etc.
Jeff is a lifelong Cedar Rapids resident with two diplomas in building construction and also an AAS degree in Horticulture, all from Kirkwood Community College.
