The health and well-being of our students and faculty is our highest priority in the Cedar Rapids Community School District. Together, Linn County Public Health Department and the Cedar Rapids Community School District have created a program to test radon in all District facilities on a four year rotation.
According to the EPA, the National action level for radon mitigation is 4 pCi/L (picocuries per liter). As a guideline set by the EPA, this is the level that the Cedar Rapids Community School District follows for radon mitigation from a room. Regularly occupied rooms on the first floor of the building are tested, followed by 25% of the remaining occupied rooms on upper levels of the facility.
