The Cedar Rapids Community School District is pleased to announce that we have adopted the Raptor Visitor and Volunteer Management System in our schools to strengthen the district’s program of campus safety for students and faculty. Upon entering a district building, visitors will be asked to present an ID, which may be scanned or manually entered into the system. We understand that a parent or guardian, for a number of reasons, may not have a US government-issued ID. In this case, the school staff member can ask to see another form of identification and manually enter the person’s name into the Raptor system. The system is designed to check this information against the sex offender registry.
Because the safety of our students, staff, visitors, and volunteers is critically important, all volunteers must complete an online Volunteer Application annually. You can find the application under the "Our School" tab for all schools, and under the "Schools" tab of the District Homepage.
To learn more about the Raptor visitor and volunteer management system, please visit the Raptor Technologies website. If you have any questions for the CRCSD personnel, please contact your building principal.
The safety of our students is our highest priority and the Raptor visitor and volunteer management system provides a consistent way to aid in protecting our students from potential harm. Thank you, in advance, for your understanding and support of enhancing school safety protocols in our district.
