Steve Graham, Executive Director of Business Services, has received the 2014 Iowa Association of School Business Officials (ASBO) Professional Leadership Award. The award recognizes a school business official who has demonstrated excellence in service to their school district, community, and profession.

“Steve is a senior member of a very special group of individuals in Iowa,” noted Dr. Dave Benson, Superintendent. “ Very few people understand school finance. Steve is one of those special few. He has the ability to advocate for best financial practices and support educational opportunities for the students.”

Graham has served as a school business official in Iowa public schools for 27 years, 17 of those with the Cedar Rapids Community School District. As the state honoree, Graham will receive a $1,000 ASBO Scholarship to present to a graduating high school senior from one of the Cedar Rapids schools entering either education or business as a course of study.

“I feel very honored and humbled that IASBO selected me for this honor," said Graham.
