Harlem Globetrotter Shares Message About Bullying

March 4, 2020 01:30 PM

A Harlem Globetrotter stopped by Erskine Elementary School Wednesday morning to share a message about bullying.

#19 Flip White of the Harlem Globetrotters presented the “T.E.A.M. Up at School” program in a school-wide assembly. The program is designed by the National Campaign to Stop Violence and provides students with bullying solutions through the acronym T.E.A.M. that stands for Talk, Empathize, Ask, and Mobilize.

Mr. White explained the definition of each word in T.E.A.M. and how it applies to students every day.  For example “EMPATHY" means the ability to understand how someone who is upset feels.

The Globetrotters are visiting over 300 schools across the country with the message and will be performing in Cedar Rapids on March 21.
