We have updated our health services illness exclusion guidelines.
After researching fever guidelines from a variety of sources, including the CDC and the American Academy of Pediatrics, research supports that a child is not considered to have a temperature until it reaches 100.4 orally. Students will not be sent home unless their temp is 100.4 orally, previously it was 100.0. In the event of a communicable disease outbreak, we follow the school exclusion recommendations of Linn County Public Health.
For more information, please refer to our complete illness guidelines located in the parent notifications on the district website. http://www.cr.k12.ia.us/…/District_Notifications_Final_9_18… (See pages 27-30)
Prevent the spread of illness by washing hands frequently, covering coughs and sneezes and getting the influenza shot. Stay well and thank you for your help in keeping our students and community healthy!
