McKinley Focuses on Anti-Bullying

February 27, 2015 01:05 PM

As part of “Anti-Bullying Week” at McKinley Middle School, students built a wall. Individual students designed a brick to affix to a “Brick Wall Against Bullying” display, highlighting their personal commitment to stand up against bullying.

They also tuned in each morning for facts related to the issue during announcements, participated in a survey about personal experiences with bullying, and stepped up to perform random acts of kindness for others. On ‘Mix It Up’ Friday, students were encouraged to change seating locations and meet new people as a way to help make the school environment comfortable for everyone. Table tent conversation starters helped students engage in positive conversations. Special videos and group performances were also scheduled during the week. The week-long event was organized by the McKinley Student Council.
