The new Metro High School STEAM Academy program began its first term with 75 students. To accommodate the project-based learning program, some classroom areas at the high school were redesigned during the summer.
The STEAM program is designed around an entrepreneurial mindset; coursework focuses on practical experiences, integrating science, technology, engineering, art, and math. The high school partners with several community businesses and organizations to provide hands-on learning projects for participating 9th-12th grade students.
