  • Metro schools tuning up for annual orchestra festival

    Some 400 student musicians from area schools will take the stage of the Paramount Theatre on Saturday, Feb. 3, for the annual Metropolitan Orchestra Festival. Students representing the Cedar Rapids, Linn-Mar, and Mount Vernon school districts will present a middle school concert at 6:15 p.m. and a high school concert at 8:15 p.m. The orchestras will work with local directors as well as two guest conductors.​
