CARPENTER/PAINT SHOP
This area is attached to the ESC, where flood waters reached a level of 7-8 feet. Damage was significant. No decisions have been made on reconstruction.
ESC
Home to the District’s central administration and support services departments, the first floor of the building was heavily damaged when flood water rose to an approximate level of 7-8 feet. It did not reach the second floor. No decisions have been made on reconstruction. Central support offices are working from temporary locations.
ESC Annex
These areas are home to the custodial and grounds and buildings and grounds departments. The water rose to a level of 7-8 feet here. No decisions have been made on reconstruction.
Harrison Elementary School
The basement was damaged when sewer water backed up during the flood. All repairs are complete.
Roosevelt Transition Center
The Transition Center, located in the Roosevelt Hotel, was affected by flooding. However, staff and volunteers had moved many items to an upper level. The Transition Center was located for the 2008-09 school year at the ESC at Kingston. It will return to the downtown area in August 2009.
Taylor Elementary School
Water levels reached approximately 3 feet in the school. The playground was also submerged for a period of time. The building has now been repaired and will reopen for the 2009-10 school year.
Transportation Lot
The lot was flooded and the fence was badly damaged.
Warehouse
The warehouse is home to purchasing, food and nutrition, and warehouse personnel. During the flood, the basement filled and water came up as high as 3 feet in the first floor. No decisions have been made on reconstruction.

The District continues to work closely with the City and County to support the recovery effort.
