The annual “Third Grade Clay” exhibit continues to provide an exciting opportunity for District students to create and showcase their talent. The exhibit is held each winter at the Marvin Cone and Eaton-Buchan Galleries of Sinclair Auditorium on the Coe College campus. This year marked the 21st anniversary of the collaboration between the District and the college. Nearly 1,300 third-grade students participated, representing more than 20 District elementary schools. The exhibit has become the largest and most well-attended art show at the college.

“This event provides young artists with an opportunity to show three-dimensional work in a professional environment,” explained Lynda Black-Smith, District art facilitator. “Each school selects a theme for their project that involves important art curriculum areas but also allows for varied creative ideas.”

The exhibit continues through Feb. 8. Daily gallery hours are 3 – 5 p.m. and admission is free.
