Several Roosevelt Middle School students had the opportunity to explore the field of medicine with a spring learning trip to the University of Iowa, Carver College of Medicine. The group of eighth grade wellness students learned about various healthcare occupations and participated in a mock ‘white coat’ ceremony.

“These students had each expressed a personal interest in the medical field so they were invited on this educational journey to explore future opportunities in healthcare occupations,” explained Gabrielle Cain, teacher. “It was a very worthwhile experience.”

The trip was organized through the Workplace Learning Connection.
