The Cedar Rapids Community School District is committed to providing excellent educational programs for all students and regularly reviews practices so improvements can be made. To this end, the District engaged in a study of enrollment trends and facilities during the 2010-11 school year.
The information from these studies was reviewed and considered by a diverse stakeholder committee of teachers, administrators, parents, and community members and consultants to provide the superintendent with guidance in forming administrative recommendations to the Board of Education. A public input survey was also conducted in November 2011 to measure awareness and gauge support for possible strategies. Community forums are scheduled for February 2 and 9, 2012. No final decisions will be made by the Board of Education until after that time.
