Metro Care Connection’s 7th Annual Family Day at the Ballpark event will be held Saturday, August 29, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Veteran’s Memorial Stadium. The event is designed as an affordable day of family fun; all proceeds support the Metro Care Connection, the Cedar Rapids Community School District’s School-Based Health Centers and Services.
Admission is $3 if pre-registered and $4 at the door and includes:
- Meet players from the Kernels baseball team
- The Kernels FUN ZONE
- Make a craft with the Iowa Children’s Museum staff
- A ballpark lunch
- Baseball activities and a chance to play catch on the field and run the bases!
- Health/Resource information & giveaways
- And a chance to have your picture taken with Mr. Shucks and the team players!
Children 2 years and under are admitted free.

The Metro Care Connection supports students who are without insurance, underinsured or have no access to health care, mental health counseling, or substance abuse counseling. MCC helps over 2,000 students annually.
