The energy on stage was electric when students from Jefferson, Kennedy, and Washington high schools joined with world-class musician Mark Wood to present a special combined orchestra concert. Wood, a founding member of the acclaimed Trans-Siberian Orchestra, was center stage throughout the evening but always kept the spotlight on the students. A series of student soloists were featured on each number.

The ‘Electrify Your Strings’ concert included arrangements of “Any Way You Want It,” “Eleanor Rigby,” and “Born To Be Wild.” With a focus on the importance of arts education, Wood also shared stories of learning to play multiple instruments and performing with his family before attending Julliard School and eventually forming the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. He regularly works with school ensembles throughout the US and internationally.
