Stephen Probert has been named Director of Professional Learning for the District. Probert most recently served as the Teacher Leadership Program Facilitator; prior to that, he taught at Viola Gibson and Hiawatha Elementary Schools and was an Instructional Coach at Polk and Garfield Elementary Schools. Probert completed both his undergraduate and master’s degrees from the University of Northern Iowa. In his new role, Probert will work collaboratively with teachers, teacher leaders, and the administrative team to create and implement professional learning plans that will improve classroom instruction and enhance student learning.
“Mr. Probert's work as a teacher leader at the building level and most recently as a teacher leader at the Education, Learning and Support Center have prepared him for the role of Director of Professional Learning,” said Mary Ellen Maske, Deputy Superintendent.
“I am proud of our district’s commitment to student and adult learning,” Probert added. “It is a privilege to lead the our efforts to support all of our outstanding educators. I am eager to continue our collaborative work which leads to world-class instruction for each student.”
