Public Input Invited

January 22, 2015 10:03 AM

The District has begun the process of identifying a new Superintendent. Dr. Dave Benson announced in December that he will retire as Superintendent at the end of the current school year. (web story) Members of the District community are invited to provide input on the characteristics and skills the next leader should have. Public input will be collected through an online survey and in-person at open forums.

Please share your thoughts by participating in the survey below. As you respond, please remember that all characteristics listed are desirable, but we are interested in knowing your perceptions about which characteristics are “most important” for our school district. The online survey will be available through Jan. 31, 2015.

Parent and Community Open Forums will be facilitated by a member of our consulting firm, Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates. We hope you can attend one of the sessions below.

·         Wednesday, Jan. 28, 5:30-7:00 p.m. – Educational Leadership and Support Center, 2500 Edgewood Road NW, Cedar Rapids

·         Thursday, Jan. 29, 5:30 -7:00 p.m. – African American Museum, 55 12th Avenue SE, Cedar Rapids

Thank you for your assistance with this important process.
