School Breakfast
School breakfast provides one-fourth of a student's Recommended Dietary Allowance and we must offer students four food items from four food components:
- One serving of juice, fruit, or vegetable
- Two servings of meat or meat alternate
- Two servings of bread or bread alternate or one serving of bread and one serving of meat.
- Fluid Milk
School Lunch
School Lunch provides one-third of a student's Recommended Dietary Allowance and we must offer children five food items from four food components:
- One serving of meat or meat alternate
- Bread or bread alternate - at least one each day with a total of 12 to 15 over the course of a week.
- Two different fruits or vegetables plus an additional one-half to one cup over the course of a week.
- Fluid Milk
