The District is hosting a STEM Festival on Tuesday, Feb. 24, from 4-8 p.m., at the Cedar Rapids Public Library. Students and their families are invited to attend to learn more about science, technology, engineering and mathematics in addition to how arts and humanities fit in to create STEAM. Activities will include a robotics scrimmage, laparoscopic equipment from University of Iowa, CoderDoJo, and several hands-on activities designed to interest students from preschool through high school.
The goal is to bring science, technology, engineering and mathematics to life by assembling experienced scientists, engineers, teachers and education experts to provide an evening full of hands-on activities. This is the second year for the event.
There is no cost to participate and registration is not required.
