Art

Students in the Cedar Rapids Community School District are provided outcome-based art instruction by highly qualified teachers. These teachers provide an education that illuminates the impact art has on communication, creative personal realization, culture and history, means to wellbeing, and community engagement. An understanding of these philosophical foundations allows our students to become artistically literate individuals.

Our art courses are aligned to the National Art Standards which includes four artistic processes (creating, presenting, responding, connecting), eleven anchor standards, and PK-12 performance standards.
