  • ADD - Attention Deficit Disorder
  • ADHD - Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder
  • AEA - Area Education Agency
  • Arc - The Arc of East Central Iowa
  • AT - Autism
  • BD - Behavior Disability
  • BF -  Behavior Focused
  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention
  • CST - Child Study Team –
    • a group of people including special education personnel who meet to discuss student concerns and recommend interventions
  • DD - Developmental Disabilities
  • DE - Department of Education
  • EC - Early Childhood
  • ECSE - Early Childhood Special Education
  • EI - Eligible Individual
  • ESYS - Extended School Year Services
    • (provision of special education programming beyond the 180-day school year services)
  • FAPE - Free, Appropriate Public Education
  • FBA - Functional Behavioral Assessment
  • FERPA - Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act
  • GWAEA - Grant Wood Area Education Agency
  • HI - Hearing Impaired
