Students spend time each day in enrichment programming and have access to each school’s playground and library.

A Love of Learning

All students have a certified teacher working to rapidly grow in math, reading and writing over the seven-week program. KCU doesn’t look like a typical school day, but the program does measure its success with reliable assessments. Staff and students focus on creative, project-based learning that empowers kids to follow their curiosity.

Healthy Meals

Breakfast and lunch is included in the free camp, and available through the Cedar Rapids Community School District Nutrition program. Each Friday students can also take home a weekend food bag to ensure no one goes hungry this summer.

Parent Involvement

All parents will receive a phone call before the first day of Kids on Course University. Parents can expect communication in the form of newsletters and notes over the seven week program. A parent night at each school will take place so families can ask questions and learn more about how to support their educational journeys.
