Vaccinations Now Open to Students Age 12 and Older

May 14, 2021 10:34 AM

On Wednesday, May 12, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Federal Drug Administration (FDA) approved the two-dose Pfizer vaccine for children ages 12 and older. On this short notice, Cedar Rapids Community School District quickly arranged for today’s high school vaccine clinics to be open for all interested high school students. This timing allows for the second dose to occur on Friday, June 4—the last day of this school year.

Students who have not received the vaccine yet and are interested in doing so can easily find a vaccine location below. Please note that students age 12 to 17 are only eligible for the Pfizer vaccine, and students age 18 or older are eligible for either the Pfizer, Moderna, or Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
