Dear CRCSD Families,

Due to a significant increase in the COVID-19 community rate of infection, impact on the healthcare systems, as well as CRCSD’s staff absenteeism rate related to illness (impacting all departments, including transportation and schools), CRCSD applied Tuesday, November 10th, for a district-wide waiver to conduct full remote learning for PK-12 students. The district was notified at 9:06 a.m. today, November 12th, that the waiver has been granted.

For all grades and schools, remote learning began Thursday, November 12th. In-person instruction will resume on Monday, November 30th.

Please note that all in-person activities/athletics are suspended during this time period. Respective school athletic directors have been communicating directly with activity/athletic groups regarding practice and event schedules.

For in-person students who are now switching to remote learning, you may want to review the Parent/Student Technology Resources site to help answer many of your potential questions.

Additionally, respective schools have provided specific information about updated learning schedules and remote materials.

As always, take care.
Noreen Bush
Superintendent
Cedar Rapids Community School District
